Enjoy an exciting whale watching excursion, travelling through both protected and open-coast marine waters and make interpretive stops that feature coastal wildlife and rainforest. Explore the region around Nimmo Bay in search of wildlife and nature, with a choice of wilderness adventures. Activities which are included range from hiking, yoga, paddleboarding and snorkelling to waterfall plunge pool, destination picnics and relaxing in the floating sauna.
Beginning with a tour through pristine Clayoquot Sound, you’ll take in sensational scenery and wildlife including gray whales, sea lions, seals, porpoises, and killer whales. The area is also known for its variety of sea birds, including tufted puffins, and its number of resident bald eagles. From March through October, Pacific gray whales visit the shores. In July, resident gray whales arrive on the summer feeding grounds, where they remain until November. Humpbacks are frequent in August. One day, a pod of orcas may pass through the Sounds, while on another, a low tide allows investigation of the colourful inter-tidal zone.
