Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge Borneo

Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge provides a simple and comfortable stay, in the wilderness of Lower Kinabatangan River. Set among ancient rainforests, freshwater wetlands and mangrove forests, the lodge offers a peaceful getaway into nature.

Established in 1994, the lodge maintains tight connections to the community by hiring and sponsoring local education. Enjoy river excursions to see Borneo's distinctive wildlife, rest on the lodge's sundeck overlooking the Kinabatangan River, or enjoy the newly built swimming pool.

Located right on the banks of the Kinabangtan River, not far from the river mouth. Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge can be reached by road or boat from Sandakan.

  • The lodge has 39 simple stilted chalets with wooden floors and walls, including twin, triple, double, and family rooms.
  • Each room has an en-suite bathroom with a hot shower.
  • Not all rooms have air conditioning, but there are ceiling fans and netted windows.
  • There is an air-conditioned lounge where you can watch educational videos about Borneo.
  • There is a library, café and sundeck overlooking the Kinabatangan River, and a recently built swimming pool.
