Kuro Camp Tanzania

Kuro Tarangire is the perfect balance of luxury and authenticity and an ideal base from which to explore Tarangire National Park. Encounter large concentrations of elephants, big cats and other animals around the stunning Silale swamps and in the trademark baobab country of Tarangire National Park.

A small and intimate camp with just six tented safari rooms, you will feel truly at one with your natural surroundings.  The idea of the camp is to have a small footprint on the environment with as natural a design as possible, without compromising your comforts.

Whilst here you will be able to enjoy twice-daily game drives in Tarangire National Park as well as walking safaris. End the day with a scenic sundowner before returning to camp to share stories of your day on safari around the campfire.

Kuro Camp Location

Kuro Camp is set along the banks of the Tarangire River, in the Tarangire National Park in northern Tanzania.

How to get to Kuro Camp

You can either fly to the Kuro Airstrip from Arusha by light aircraft and be game driven 30 mins to the camp or be driven 3-4 hours from Arusha.

Kuro Camp Accommodation & Facilities

  • Six tented safari rooms and a family unit which consists of twin en-suite bedrooms (minimum age of 8 years).
  • Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and a bucket shower, and each tent also has an outdoor shower which looks out over the bush.
  • Kuro camp is closed during the April-May long rains.

Kuro Camp Activities

  • By day, the experienced guides will drive you out to cross paths with elephant families, awe at preying lions along the riverbanks and watching out for big herds of buffalo.
  • By night, experience the magic of the dark and spot the glinting eyes reflecting in the dark, which could be anything from a hyena to a porcupine.
  • If these activities aren't exhilarating enough, head out with your guide on a bush walk, which is an amazing way to see game up close and experience nature at its finest.

Kuro Camp Dining

  • Meals are served according to the safari schedule, with breakfast typically being early, followed by a light buffet lunch after the morning game drive, with homemade pizzas, bread and salad.
  • A more elaborate dinner is served after the evening game drive, with a soup to start followed by meat and vegetables.
