A beautiful safari in the remote southern region of Tanzania. Search for big cats; including leopard, lion and cheetah, and big game. This area is excellent for the big cats, as well as elephants, crocodiles and more, and it is so peaceful, you are almost guaranteed to see no other tourists during your stay. Relax alongside the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean in Zanzibar.
Day 1: Arrive Dar Es Salaam
Upon arrival at the airport you will be met and assisted through immigration, collect your luggage and be introduced to your driver. You’ll be taken to your hotel in the city to relax for the rest of the day. Note that check into your hotel may not be in the afternoon.
Day 2: Dar Es Salaam - Nyerere National Park
This morning after breakfast, you will be met and transferred for your onward flight to the Nyerere National Park. From the airstrip, you are transferred to your camp where you have a chance to settle in before heading out on your first activity.
Days 3 - 4: On Safari at Sand Rivers
Spend your days exploring the Nyerere National Park on game drives, boat safaris and walking safaris, which are a great way to venture through this diverse landscape. On game drives you can search for big game, wild dog, giraffe, zebra and more, or partake in a walking safari.
Day 5 - Nyerere National Park - Ruaha National Park
After a final game drive this morning, you will be driven to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Ruaha National Park. On arrival you will be met by your guide and game driven to Jabali Ridge. After dark, it is possible to search for nocturnal species on a night drive.
Days 6 - 7 - On Safari at Jabali Ridge
Enjoy exploring this remote wilderness area famed for its big cats, elephant and plains game. You will be able to go out on twice-daily game drives in the open-sided vehicles. Explore on foot on walking safaris, and appreciate more of the bush's sights, smells and sounds.
Day 8 - Ruaha National Park - Zanzibar
This morning after breakfast, you transfer back to the Ruaha airstrip where you will catch your internal flight to Dar es Salaam and onwards to Zanzibar. Upon arrival at Zanzibar airport you will be met by one of our representatives and transferred to your accommodation.
Days 9 - 10 - Zanzibar
Zanzibar's rich history, culture and marine life ensure there is plenty to do if you feel active including snorkelling, sailing out to the local reef, kayaking, village visits, spice tours or visits to Stone Town. Xanadu promises an unparalleled experience that transcends expectations.
Day 11 - Depart Zanzibar
Today, at a time to be advised locally, you will be collected for your private transfer to Zanzibar International Airport. On arrival at the airport you will be assisted to check in for your onward flight. Please note that check out from the hotel is in the morning.
