Trackers: The Scouts of the Jungle
Trackers start their day early, heading into the forest to locate the gorilla groups. They follow trails, droppings, and nests to pinpoint the location of the gorillas. Trackers use radios to communicate with guides, updating them on the gorillas' positions and movements.
Their intimate knowledge of the forest and gorilla behaviour helps them anticipate the gorillas’ movements, making it easier to lead tourists to the right spots.
Guides: The Leaders of the Trek
Guides begin with a comprehensive briefing, educating trekkers on the dos and don’ts, safety protocols, and what to expect during the trek. Guides lead the group through dense forests, steep terrain, and challenging conditions, ensuring everyone stays on the correct path.
In addition to guiding the group, they provide detailed information about gorillas, their habits, and the ecosystem, enriching the trekking experience with their educational insights.
Guides are trained to handle emergencies and ensure the safety of the trekkers by maintaining a safe distance from the gorillas and managing group dynamics.
