If you want to see grizzly bears in the wild, Katmai National Park is one of the best places in the world to see them. If watching bears eating and playing in their natural environment is on your bucket list, this has to be the place in the world to tick it off! We love Brooks Falls and it's where bears mass for the salmon run. A platform stretches out above the bears, allowing for close-up views with minimal disturbance to the bears. This incredible accomodation is available on our Ultimate Alaska Safari.
Of all the bears in North America, none are as extraordinary as those in Kodiak. The bears of Kodiak are larger than any other brown bear or grizzly! In fact, they’re similar in size to the polar bear! Kodiak now has nearly 3,000 grizzlies and by exploring on a small ship cruise you enable unique encounters with them, along with a chance to enjoy this tranquil landscape. You can experience these amazing bears in a very special way - on a small ship cruise on the aptly named Grizzly Cruiser. Our 8 day Kodiak Bear Tour takes in Kodiak & Katmai National Parks and, with only 4 cabins on the ship, it really is a very intimate once in a lifetime trip!
Do you prefer adventures that are off the beaten track? Do you seek remote landscapes that are 100 miles from the nearest road?
