The family home of photographer Finn Beales and arts director Clare Purcell has recently won a slew of RIBA awards, including Building of the Year. The renovation, in which Finn played a leading role, was described by jury members as having “the Goldilocks qualities of being neither too big nor too small, neither too formal nor too informal […] a sophisticated balance of prospect and retreat, light and dark.”
Finn travels for much of the year but his roots lie in the mountains of Wales, where he lives in a RIBA winning home (that he helped design) with his partner of 25 years and their son, daughter, dog, ducks, chickens, horses and sheep. The humans in that line-up have a deep love for cooking, travelling, exploring and adventuring together.

Find Out More HereFinn Beales is a photographer, director and writer hailing from the border country between England and Wales. With a unique ability to tell inspiring stories with a camera, Finn's resonating and cinematic style has seen global brands such as Apple, Breitling, Land Rover, and Omega tap him for his signature look and creative approach. He travels the world to capture the raw power of nature, immortalising spellbinding moments in wild, off-grid locations, and his work in these areas has earned him a loyal following of over half a million on Instagram.
During the pandemic lockdowns, Finn wrote the critically acclaimed ‘The Storytelling Photography Workshop’, a title that has been translated into 17 foreign editions and helped thousands of aspiring photographers kick-start their careers. His second book, ‘Let's Get Lost’, a compendium of some of the world's most remote locations, was shortlisted for the Edward Stanford Travel Photography Book of the Year.

I’m delighted to announce my first print collaboration with Atelier Ji, a fine art publishing and printmaking studio in South East London that specialises in silkscreen, etching, relief printing and archival inkjet/pigment (giclée) printmaking.
Hand-finished with deckled edges, these artworks are from a series inspired by Einstein’s theories, drawing on notions of relativity and the ever-shifting perspectives on time and space. They are sized and priced to sit comfortably in every home.
"Platforms like Instagram make it all too easy to hit a colour filter button without understanding how the colour shift affects a viewer on a psychological level. I develop my Lightroom Presets around specific colours and the distinct emotional responses they draw from a viewer. Emotions are the driver within us all, and when it comes to imagery, there is little that affects our feelings more than colour. Exposure and temperature adjustments make a huge difference to all presets' effectiveness, so bear this in mind when editing and expect to tweak these settings to your liking."
