Magellan Explorer

The Magellan Explorer is the world’s first polar expedition ship designed for Antarctic fly-cruise operations. With ships in the polar industry getting bigger by the year, the Magellan Explorer provides small group luxury in the wilderness of Antarctica.

Custom-built to take on polar waters and navigate seamlessly through narrow Antarctic channels, the Magellan Explorer boasts state-of-the-art technology, sleek and stylish interior spaces, and boutique hospitality. Offering a number of suites and cabins ranging from 220 ft2 to 440 ft2, most with a private balcony from which to enjoy the spectacular scenery. The spacious forward-facing observation lounge and bar were designed with large panoramic windows, so that the Antarctic views are never missed while briefings and presentations are conducted.

Dining

The main dining room offers buffet breakfast and lunch, and table-service dinner. There is an express lunch option available daily in the library, and a barbecue deck outside for al fresco dining when weather permits. There is complimentary self-service coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cappuccino and water offered 24/7 in the library and bar.

Activities

As with all expeditions to Antarctica, excursions are weather- and wildlife-dependent. The team on board will aim to have you out exploring by zodiac or on land at least twice a day. Antarctica is home to stunning scenery and incredible wildlife but there is history here too, and historical landings sometimes play a part in your itinerary.
