Sri Lanka Family Safaris

Sri Lanka is a fantastic destination for a family safari holiday. There is so much to do too which means both you and your children will have plenty to keep you occupied. One thing to note is the drive times can be long and it is worth being prepared for this so you have things to keep younger children occupied.

As there are so many sites to see, it is important you have a good guide who will make these places interesting to children. Many of the guides are fantastic with kids and almost make the place come alive! The Gathering for example is a must with kids; over 400 elephant’s congregate at the height of the rainy season. These vast herds are an incredible sight and to plan your family safari around events like this will make it a treat for the whole family. Accommodation varies greatly and families can benefit from renting out entire cottages, staying in safari tents in the middle of the National Park or in one of the many great beach lodges.

Because Sri Lanka has so much on offer, you can put together a trip to suit all interests. From culture and wildlife, to simply relaxing on the beach, Sri Lanka offers it all. There are a variety of places and events of interest in Sri Lanka including whale watching, the famous Temple of the Tooth, walks in the beautiful Tea estates or some fantastic diving off the coast.
