You’ll take this journey with the renowned National Geographic Photographer Steve Winter, who will offer his expert tuition as you track the majestic Bengal tiger.
Discover Kahna National Park, said to be the inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling’s ‘Jungle Book’ with its rich biodiversity. Bandhavgarh National Park is home to the highest density of Bengal Tigers, you can also spot asiatic jackal, Bengal fox and sloth bears within the forests and grasslands. Accompanied by Steve Winter, who will set you up to capture the best images of your lifetime.
Day 1, 06 March - Arrive Delhi
Upon arrival into Delhi you’ll be met and assisted through immigration and introduced to your driver. You’ll be taken to your hotel to rest after your long journey.

Day 2, 07 March – Delhi – Raipur – Kanha
This morning you’ll be transferred back to Delhi airport for your flight to Raipur. Upon arrival you’ll be met and begin your long drive to Kanha National Park. In the evening rest in your luxury tent, ready for your first thrilling safari the next morning.

Days 3-5, 8-10 March – Exploring Kahna National Park
To maximise your wildlife viewing you’ll take full day safaris within Kahna National Park, enjoying picnic breakfasts and lunches within the jungle. As well as the iconic Bengal Tiger Kahna boasts 22 species of mammals and 200 species of birds. Among others you may find sambhar, barasingha, black buck and dhole, bird species include the Indian roller, mynah, racket-tailed drongo and crested serpent-eagle.

Day 6, 11 March – Kanha – Bandhavgarh
This morning, take your final safari in Kanha National Park. Set off on your journey to Bandhavgarh. In the evening rest after your long drive.

Days 7-9, 12-14 March – Exploring Bandhavgarh National Park
Have your best lens at the ready for three full days safari in Bandhavgarh National Park. Put the skills you have learned from Steve Winter to the test as you move through the forests, grasslands and bamboo, ever watchful for the yellow eyes of a tiger staring up at you. Here you may also find wild boar, nilgai, chinkara and gaur. Bandhavgarh is a birders paradise with Egyptian vulture, black kite, whistling teal and white-eyed buzzards among the 250 bird species found here.

Day 10, 15 March – Bandhavgarh – Jabalpur – Delhi
This morning you’ll be transferred to Jabalpur airport for your flight to Delhi. Upon arrival you’ll be transferred back to the elegant Taj Palace to rest before your international flight the next day.

Day 11, 16 March – Depart Delhi
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and check out at midday. We’ll arrange your return airport transfer around your international flight schedule.

Giant paw prints on the road set my heart racing. The sudden silence made me even more nervous. As I was staring beyond the front of the vehicle with anticipation, our guide said, ‘Look here, here, right here! A tiger is coming!’ Suddenly through the dense brushwood less than twenty metres to the right, a magnificent creature with quiet footsteps comes out of the forest. A giant cat in a tawny coat with black stripes, a fearsome head, sharp teeth, and a long tail slowly crosses the dirt road in front of our vehicle. A tiger! This is what I have come to India to see!
