Muzimu Lodge Mozambique

Located on the Mussicadzi River in Gorongosa National Park, Muzimu Lodge is gently integrated within the surroundings to blend in with the riverine trees.

The lodge provides a unique blend of comfort, luxury, and immersive nature experiences in the heart of the 4,000 square km Gorongosa National Park.

A strong thread of authenticity spreads throughout the lodge, enhancing the colours and flavours of Mozambique’s rich culture and cuisine.

This lodge is only accessible from Mid-March through to December.

Perched majestically atop a hill, Buma Hills Safari Lodge commands a breathtaking view of the expansive Kariba Lake, located just 55km southwest of Kariba Town.

Muzimu Lodge Accommodation & Facilities

  • 6 Bedouin Style tents are positioned on elevated decks with connecting walkways.
  • Each tent includes a king-size bed or twin beds with high-quality linens, a seating area, and large windows that open out to private verandas. En-suite bathrooms feature hot showers, double vanities, and eco-friendly toiletries. Some tents may also offer outdoor showers for a more authentic bush experience.
  • The heart of the lodge is the main building, which houses the lounge, dining area, and bar. The lounge area features comfortable seating, perfect for relaxing with a book and taking in the views of the surrounding bush.
  • Muzimu Lodge features a swimming pool with views of the surrounding wilderness.

  • Muzimu Lodge offers twice-daily game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, led by experienced guides. Gorongosa National Park is home to a rich variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, hippos, and a diverse range of bird species.
