Covered in savannah grassland, acacia plains and rocky hills, this diverse habitat supports a whole host of wildlife including giraffe, elephant, lion (the highest density in the area), and cheetah, as well as hippos and huge crocodiles lazing in the river. There is also a growing leopard population, with 7 resident leopards including a cub in the area. Day 1, 13 November 2025 - Arrive Nairobi
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by one of our representatives who will drive you to your accommodation, Tamarind Tree Hotel. This evening you will have a welcome dinner to meet the rest of the group. (D)
Kenya’s capital city in the central highlands has rapidly evolved from an undiscovered and unpopulated swampland, at the turn of the 20th Century, to a sprawling metropolis that is one of Africa’s largest and best known. When railway workers set up a camp here in 1899 it was named ‘Mile 327’, whilst the local Maasai had called it Ewaso Nai’beri or ‘place of cold water’.

This morning after breakfast, you will be transferred to the Ol Seki Airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi Wilson (11:00/12:20). On arrival you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you will say goodbye to the group and head for your onward flight. (B)
