Day 1 - Arrive Kilimanjaro - Arusha
Today you will arrive in Kilimanjaro Airport. Upon arrival, you will be met and escorted through immigration to collect your luggage. You will then be handed over to your driver and transferred to your accommodation to relax after your flight.
Tanzania offers great opportunities to view the Big Five roaming the savannah plains, it is not uncommon to see cheetah prowling, gazelle grazing, herds of elephant wandering, lions resting atop kopjes and leopard lazing or climbing trees.

In the morning you will set off with your private guide for your Arusha City Tour. This tour will take you inside the workings of the busy little town of Arusha. You have the opportunity to visit a school, church, local market and have a drink in a local pub.
Mid-morning you will transfer to the South of Lake Manyara National Park. Have lunch at the Magara Waterfalls and enjoy a mid-afternoon mountain bike ride into the South gate of Manyara National Park. Later in the afternoon you will be game driven to Manyara Green Camp, which is nestled at the bottom of the beautiful Endabash waterfall - a reliable fresh water source for the local wildlife.
Day 3 - Lake Manyara National Park
Start the day with a canoe safari on Lake Manyara, various game drive options are available throughout the day. Enjoy sundowners on the waterfalls, swimming in the rock pools and a night drive. You will then have the rest of the evening back at Manyara Green Camp.

Today you will go on an early morning game drive out of Manyara. Enroute out of the pak, you will enjoy a treetop walkway which takes you on a sky-high adventure through the beautiful forest of Lake Manyara. After, go on a guided walk through the farming village of Mto Wa Mbu, where you will have the chance of sampling local cuisine in a banana plantation. This walk takes you on a journey to experience the traditional culture of the local people. You will visit the local farms, interact with kindergarten children, speak to local inhabitants, and view the best deals in the market. In the afternoon you will transfer to Karatu and to Plantation Lodge.
Karatu - Ngorongoro Crater Descent
Today you will be game driven onto the crater floor; a famed activity around the world. This area is rich in wildlife and was one of the first regions to become protected so wildlife is in abundance. Head back to Mysigio for the evening and enjoy meeting the Maasai in the evening.
Often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World, the Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. With the appearance of a natural amphitheater, it is world-renowned for being the most incredible sanctuary for wildlife, enjoying the highest density of mammals in Africa across its crater floor. Located in Northern Tanzania, the Ngorongoro Crater is notably one of Africa’s most famous national parks. This ancient volcano was supposedly as high as Mount Kilimanjaro two to three million years ago until it later imploded, leaving the world’s largest intact caldera, complete with 600m-high walls. The attraction of game to this area comes from the high fertility of the soil along with a year-round supply of water, satisfying one of the highest concentrations of life in Africa. Measuring approximately 16 miles in diameter, tusker elephants, leopard, rhino and lion all roam the depths of the crater. It is a place where wildlife and game viewing is easy and excellent year-round, making it one of Tanzania’s most popular places to visit, and the best location in the country to view the ‘Big Five’.

Depart after breakfast for your drive up through the Serengeti with a packed lunch enroute. Over the next two days enjoy short morning walks and then head out for more game driving the plains and aiming to spot the migration (season dependant).

Enjoy an early morning game drive out of the area and drive to the Seronera or Kogatende Airstrip (depending on the departure) for your flight over the plains back to Arusha. You will be met upon arrival and transferred to Rivertrees for use of a dayroom. Later in the day you will be transferred back to Kilimanjaro Airport in time for your flight home.
The wildebeest migration covers a huge area of the Serengeti-Masai Mara ecosystem, and despite the varying weather, putting together a migration specific itinerary is not as difficult as one may at first think. Knowing the best location for specific times of year is of paramount importance. The exact route of the migrating herbivores depends on the weather and where the grass is greener, be it in Kenya or Tanzania. However, the migration does tend to follow the same, or a similar, pattern year after year, which means that you can have a good idea of where to locate yourself. Each area is good at different times of the year, the Serengeti seeing the migration for around nine months and the Mara for just three.

Wayo Serengeti Green Camp is a seasonal camp which follows the main wildebeest events during the year. This camp is located in the northern section of the Serengeti from July to October where herds follow the rain showers, leaving behind the drying volcanic plains in the south. During calving season the camp moves south as the Wildebeest drop the babies. Days can be spent game driving the plains and following herds or predators, walks from camp to discover these fantastic lands on foot or indeed relaxing in your private tent listening to the chorus of birds.
