Day 1: Arrive San Jose
On arrival in San Jose, you will be met by our local representatives and privately transferred to Finca Rosa Blanca where you can relax, recuperate from your flight and look forward to your imminent adventures.
A cosy inn situated within a fully functioning coffee plantation, there is a real focus upon social responsibility- 10% from the cost of each meal in the restaurant is given back to the local community. With just 13 rooms and suites available there is an intimate atmosphere, perfect for lounging around the infinity pool after a full day of exploring.

This morning you will be collected by private transfer from San Jose, driving through the spectacular Braulio Carrillo National Park, you’ll continue through banana plantations and to the sandy pier at La Pavona. A two-hour shared boat ride on the river will take you to your lodge.
This rustic, beachfront lodge in the north east area of the Caribbean coast is positioned on a sand bar between the Caribbean Sea and the Tortuguero Canals, with spectacular views over both. Surrounded by lush rainforest, the 15-acre property has great access to both the ocean and the canals from within an amazing eco-system. The 54 accommodations are simple, yet comfortable, kept at an ambient temperature.

Lush jungle foliage lines the riverbanks where you might be able to see spider, howler and capuchin monkeys, migrant birds, sloths, crocodiles, caimans, river turtles and iguanas. Elusive jaguars also live in the area, so you might be treated to a sighting on your lucky day!
Lying in the northeast of Costa Rica along the Caribbean coastline, the Tortuguero National Park is a stunningly located park that protects a 22-mile stretch of beach, providing one of the largest and most important nesting grounds for the endangered green turtle. During the nesting season, between July and October, entrants to the park will have the privilege of coinciding their visit with these gentle creatures who make their way up the beach at night to lay their eggs, and with our guided nocturnal trips it is possible to see them at incredibly close range, making it in many wildlife enthusiasts eyes a must as part of their Costa Rica itinerary. This is one of the best places to see turtle hatchlings, and you can also see wildlife such as sloths, monkeys and toucans.

After a final breakfast overlooking Rio Tortuguero, you will be transferred to the nearby airstrip for your 25-minute shared flight to La Fortuna, where you will met by your driver who will transfer you (private) to your hotel. This afternoon, relax and unwind in the EcoThermales Hot Springs.
Located near La Fortuna, in the shadow of the Arenal volcano, this hotel is an ideal comfortable base from which to explore this region. With elegant suites, stunning views of the volcano, a restaurant, bistro and swimming pool, Manoa offers all the creature comforts required.

Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge has a great variety of resident and migratory birds, four species of monkeys, as well as three-toed sloths. Includes bus transfer, village visit, a three-hour floating safari with a bilingual guide, followed by a typical Costa Rican lunch.
Lush and green all year round, flora and fauna abound in Costa Rica and over 200 mammal species rustle stealthily through the undergrowth.

Explore the tree tops from a different perspective. The slow-paced 20 minute Sky Tram gondolas soar smoothly, offering impressive views of the rainforest, the Arenal volcano and the lake. Enjoy a walk along the hanging bridges followed by the exciting canopy tour or Sky Trek.
The best time to visit Costa Rica is all year round with the right amount of planning due to the microclimates. With two very different coastlines along the Pacific coast and the Caribbean coast, and everything from dense tropical rainforest to mist-shrouded cloud forest and mountains in between, Costa Rica has a wide climate and diverse rainfall which means the best time may slightly differ depending on which parts of the country you wish to travel. The average temperatures in Costa Rica range from 30ºC along the coasts to a milder climate in the cloud forest areas of Santa Elena and Monteverde, where it can dip to 10ºC at night.
Day 7: Arenal - Manuel Antonio
After breakfast you will be privately transferred to the Pacific coast at Manuel Antonio. The journey should take around 4 hours. Upon arrival and after checking in to your hotel, the day is yours to relax and enjoy the surroundings and scenery.

Days 8 - 9: Manuel Antonio
The only national park in Costa Rica where it is possible to see all four endemic species of primate, and a great place to spot sloths in the wild, both inside and outside the perimeters of the park itself. Surrounding the park itself there are pristine beaches and coastline.
Manuel Antonio National Park is a small biological reserve set on a peninsula atop an enchanting expanse of tropical rainforest, with spectacular views out to far-reaching white-sand beaches of the Central Pacific Coast. Just a three hour journey from the capital, San Jose, and one of only two spots in the country where you can see all four monkey species, it is also a great place for sloth-spotting. The smallest of Costa Rica’s nature reserves but by no means the least rewarding, Manuel Antonio offers the visitor a tantalising and unusual mix of incredible beaches lapped by crystal-clear waters, varied wildlife and one of the best spots for relaxation in natural splendor.

Day 10: Manuel Antonio National Park - San Jose
Today you will be privately transferred back to San Jose, a journey of approximately 3 hours 30 minutes.
